Country: Nepal – based in Thangpaldhap, Sindhupalchok district (80km from Kathmandu) with travel to Banepa

(5h drive).

Duration: 12 months renewable (36 months project)

Position taken: mid-June 2018

Conditions: salaried contract, gross monthly salary from € 1,550 to € 2,100 depending on experience, per diem monthly € 400, coverage of 100% medical coverage + repatriation insurance + insurance, housing and transport coverage international and local as part of the mission, rest every 3 months.

 

Job description

The TGH Project Manager (PM) works under the responsibility of the Head of Mission (HoM) and in collaboration with:

  • An architect / civil engineer, who will also be based in the field (Thangpaldhap);
  • Experts coming from time to time to provide support (admin, log, WASH, food security, etc.);
  • ARSOW project coordinator who manages the implementation teams.

 

The mission of the PM is divided into three essential tasks:

Contribute to the proper implementation of activities in accordance with the provisional timetable;

Build partner capacity (ARSOW-Nepal coordination team in the field);

Ensure the coordination of the project between TGH, ARSOW-Nepal partner, and the local authorities.

The PM will be the guarantor of the implementation of the project in accordance with the objectives of the project, in cooperation with ARSOW-Nepal partner.

Profile

  • Desired experience of at least 2 years in a project management position in response to a humanitarian crisis;
  • Good knowledge of the humanitarian environment, in particular of the institutional functioning and the donors;
  • Experience in managing a project with a local partner and through transfer of competence;
  • Good writing skills in French and English;
  • Fluency in English, written and oral;
  • Proficiency in computer tools (at least Excel, Word, Internet / Outlook, Google Earth);
  • Knowledge in geographic information tools (QGIS type) and data collection (KoBo Toolbox type) are a plus;
  • Financial management, administrative skills;
  • Ability to analyze, anticipate, sense of organization, good thinking skills;
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and diplomacy;
  • Fluency, good communication and coordination skills;
  • Ability to work independently;
  • Knowledge and interest in Nepal and its culture is a plus;
  • Ability to accept basic comfort level;
  • Motorcycle license desired;
  • Minimum physical fitness to reach different project sites (walking in mountainous area).ernally between the Thangpaldhap and Banepa offices.
